Macaws in Rehabilitation and Communal Living Enrichment

Enjoying my morning cup of coffee and watching my four macaws play, I realized what I needed to "contribute" to this world. I believe everyone must do a little good for others, even if there is no return benefit other than one can say "I made a difference." I know how to make a difference.
In early April 2010, one of my beloved Hyacinth macaws came back to me after his family suffered a tragic loss: his daddy passed away suddenly. Sky's transistion into communal living with my Hyacinth macaw Coco, Miligold macaw Pablo, Harlequin macaw Quinn, and Umbrella cockatoo Bella, was truly inspirational. With the acceptance of his new life and family (feathered and human) came healing and comfort for his family in Oregon. And a realization in my life that there are other macaws who could benefit from the same situation as Sky. Sky is the foundation of Sky's MIRACLE. (read more)

Please note that Sky's MIRACLE is in it's infancy.  I am working diligently towards 501(c)(3) status, but this takes time.  My main aviary is under design and development.  I leave this in the hands of my husband who has been encouraging and helpful through these beginning stages.  Not everyone has a spouse who would be willing to do this.  Although I have just started my foundation, my dream began before Sky came to me.  Prior to him, I successfuly integrated Pablo and Quinn into an aviary with Coco, my hyacinth and Bella, my Umbrella cockatoo.  It was only when Sky accepted his new feathered family do I realize this was what I needed to do for other people and macaws.
Thank you for your patience, well wishes and support.
